Palmer Park Adventure

This just in....The Crystal brothers, ages 7 and 5 have successfully climbed the bluffs of Palmer Park. This is not their first successful ascent of the bluffs. Both boys have been climbing for close to three years. The weather was beautiful and provided perfect conditions for hiking and climbing. They blazed existing trails and created a few of their own. At one point in their journey Charles thought they might not make it down. However, he was prepared to build a fire by rubbing two sticks together if needed. The two brave boys found a way down a steep rock. The expedition was a huge success with only one minor injury to report. Eric slipped while climbing down and landed on a small cactus. His hand suffered minor injuries. Congratulations boys, you did it (again)!

Boundary Changes

Today we had a special stake meeting to discuss boundary changes in our area. We found out that among many changes our ward has been dissolved and a new ward made. We no longer belong to the Colorado Springs 1st ward, we are now the Palmer Park ward. First and seventh wards have combined to create this new ward. Part of our ward was lost to another one. I couldn't find the map on the stake web page so I'm not sure who we lost. Our bishop was released which is sad because we had a really good bishop. Seventh ward bishop will remain the bishop of the new Palmer Park ward and our old first counselor became a new counselor in the bishopbric. The way I understand it is that seventh ward people will keep their callings and the first ward people's calling are dissolved for now. I'm sad because I was in the Primary presidency and absolutely loved it and the ladies who I worked with. Change is good I guess, it gives us an opportunity to grow and meet new people. One good thing to come out of this is sacrament meeting time change. We now go at 8:30 instead of 12:30, no more interfering with naps and lunch and normal daily routines. We'll see how it goes next week.
